darkness

"darkness" is a short, 20-page b&w comic made by me, nona al-raschid. it is a story about struggling with an entity only known as the "darkness", and the process of dealing with it and finding peace.

it was originally made in partial fulfillment of my visual arts major in high school. it is directly based on my personal experiences with depression. i'm not too satisfied with it - i personally think it could benefit from a rewrite. consider this the first edition of the story.

the thing about darkness is that it was written and illustrated stream-of-consciousness style - meaning that nothing in its production was actually planned that carefully beforehand, mirroring how one would write in a diary, or have a face-to-face conversation. some of the pages are visually experimental, as well - the art style shifts around and panels sometimes up and disappear.
